Fr. Joseph entered Saint John’s Abbey in 1993. Since his ordination in 1999, he has served as vocation director for the monastic community, in parish ministry for a dozen years, and director of the Abbey Spiritual Life Program (2013-2022). He currently provides spiritual direction and is a member on various chaplain teams. Joseph received his training for spiritual direction and directed retreats at Creighton University.
Fr. Cyril entered Saint John’s Abbey in 1984 and was ordained a priest in 1990. His assignments have included work as a librarian, pastoral minister, editor, and guestmaster assistant. He has studied at the University of Pittsburgh, Notre Dame, and Saint John’s University (Collegeville). His training in spiritual direction is from the SJU School of Theology.
Fr. Greg was ordained to the priesthood in 1973 for the Diocese of Davenport, Iowa and entered Saint John’s Abbey in 1997. He has held a variety of pastoral positions both before and after becoming a Benedictine monk: parochial vicar, pastor, vicar for ministry to the Spanish-speaking, and hospital chaplain. Fr. Greg presently serves as a sacramental minister in central Minnesota for the Harvest of Hope Catholic Community. Father Gregory’s formal studies in spiritual direction were at St. Catherine University, Saint Paul, Minnesota. In addition to monastic spirituality and centering prayer, his interests include various psychological and spiritual tools such as the Enneagram and Ignatian spirituality.
